Marvellous Marylebone: Individuals, Institutions and Inspiration is a walk in which you will encounter some extraordinary individuals ranging from Sherlock Holmes to Joseph Lister, Charles Dickens and John Nash who lived and worked in this imposing district of London. You will also look at some august and famous institutions like the BBC, the Royal Institute of British Architects and the Royal Academy of Music. You will hear about a great social reformer who worked hard to improve housing in Victorian London. You may also find inspiration from some of the wonderful architecture and streetscapes you will see. The walk will last 2 hours and we will have a chance to relax afterwards in one of several beautiful Victorian pubs which grace this area.
