Walk London’s rich history with Richard Cohen

Camden and Somers Town

The story of one of London’s most diverse areas

This walk is designed to celebrate the story of how Camden has a long history of welcoming communities from all over the world including Greeks, Bengalis, Irish, Somalis, refugees from the French Revolution and political exiles from South Africa. Come and see the communities these people built. We also take in buildings dedicated to the improvement of opportunities for working people and we see some of the earliest social housing schemes in London and hear about the heroic efforts taken to improve the quality of housing and environment in Camden and Somers Town. We will also visit one of the most ancient churches in London and its beautiful churchyard.Back to Walks
