Walk London’s rich history with Richard Cohen

Bloomsbury Squares and Gardens

Bloomsbury is a fine example of a planned and civilised environment. On this walk we will explore its beautiful and world famous squares which pioneered a new concept in town living, the idea of Rus in Urbe which combined the greenery and tranquillity of garden squares with the convenience of city life. We will look at the beautiful buildings on Lincoln’s Inn Fields. We will see some jewels of Georgian architecture. We will wander through the traditional neighbourhood High Street of Holborn at Lamb’s Conduit Street with its high end and elegant boutiques and then hear the story of the struggle for paediatric medicine at Great Ormond Street Hospital before ending our walk at Queen Square, one of London’s major medical campuses.
