Walk London’s rich history with Richard Cohen

Regent’s Canal – Angel to King’s Cross

At any time of the year the quiet waters of the Regent’s Canal in Islington make a beautiful and calming setting for an urban walk. Throughout this stroll we walk along or beside the canal. We visit Chapel Market – one of London’s most vibrant city markets. We will then walk through lovely canal side gardens, the Canal Museum and a water garden and White Conduit House, the home of the modern game of cricket . You will see how the decay of Islington’s industrial heritage along the canal has been turned into a green area for recreation and nature conservation. We will look at some of the impressive new developments at King’s Place and Granary Square and end our walk at the newly refurbished King’s Cross, great monument of the heroic age of the Victorian railway era now teeming with new life as the centre of London’s premier Arts University.
